Breakwater Beach

Berry Head Road, Brixham, TQ5 9AG
Blue Flag shingle beach close to the mouth of Brixham harbour. Life saving equipment is available and swimming is safe with care. There are also warning flags in operation. The beach is cleaned daily during summer, a limited number of paid car parking spaces are available, some of which are reserved for those with disabilities, and the beach is easily accessed from the car park. There are several dive schools and, if scuba diving, you can hope to see rare seagrass beds, fish, seahorses and even the odd shipwreck. Swimming, rockpooling, fishing and kayaking are also popular. The beach has its own toilets, shop, deck chair hire and café, from which there are superb views out to sea. The toilet, which is pay-to enter and which boasts baby changing facilities, is open daily all year round, from 9:00am till 8:00pm in the summer and 8:00am till 6:00pm in the winter. Dogs are banned from the start of May until the end of December.
