Valentine String Quartet

In addition to regular local orchestral work in Devon violinist Rebecca currently enjoys wearing dancing shoes in her jazz band Skedaddle, playing folk music for story telling group Kushka, composing theatrical tracks for piano and strings, and wearing her best shoes for the Valentine String Quartet.

Since moving to Devon in 2015, Anna Elwood has played violin with several local orchestras including Divertimento and ISCA and her passion for string quartet music has continued as a member of the Valentine String Quartet. In addition to performing, Anna also runs a thriving teaching studio.

Having moved to Devon in 2002 Sharon has played violin with many orchestras and ensembles including The British Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, Taunton Sinfonietta, South West Sinfonietta, Plymouth Philharmonic Choir Orchestra and South Devon Choir Orchestra. She has also performed with The Copperfield Ensemble, performed Gilbert & Sullivan and undertaken session work with local artists.

Siri is a versatile cellist with music styles ranging from classical to popular and jazz. As well as being cellist for the Valentine String Quartet, Siri regularly performs in the ‘cello and guitar duo, Cellotones. She has also performed in Mike Westbrook’s Big Band and recently performed at the St Ives Jazz Club. She has performed at a wide variety of venues at the Royal Albert Hall, the Royal Festival Hall, Exeter Cathedral, Hannahs, and a huge range of wedding venues across Devon, including Haldon Belvedere and Dartington Hall.
