The Penguins

First formed in South Devon 2006 the band rehearsed through the winter and played their debut gig in Plympton in April 2007.

One of their early gigs was at The Hub, Plymouth's premiere rock club and, early summer 07, the Penguins played top billing at Giffstock, Aveton Giffords 'Woodstock' style free festival.

The band comprises Manchester-born Andy on guitars and vocals, a long standing solo artist who also played with Manchester bands Greenhouse and No Strings.

Pete, on lead guitar and vocals was born in Yokosuki, Japan, but has lived and played in London, Devon and France and was an orginal member of Devon based band Armitage Shanks, Plymouth's 9 and The Neighbours, while in London he played with Phsijammer and in Reims, France, with Les Plais.

Chris on bass and vocals was born in London and toured with own band in the early 70s before joining the Stiff Records Tour of Britain with Jona Lewie that culminated with club dates in New York. He also played with Duffo, Blizzard and the Phil Harris Band.

Drummer Alan is from Birmingham but has played in the South West since the 1970s with the likes of Jade, Talisman, Savoir Faire, Shooter, Blitz, Time & Motion, Fate and Splintrz.
