Sir Joshua Reynolds Choir

Sir Joshua Reynolds Choir

The Choir began life in 1989 as an Adult Education Class of 15 members, taking its name from The Sir Joshua Reynolds Centre in Plympton St. Maurice where it met.

Since then it has grown and, in a conscious and successful effort to attract wider audiences, ‘The Josh' no longer concentrates on presenting solely choral and other kindred works. It now gives a series of three different programmes every year.

At the appropriate time there is a Christmas Concert that always sells out. The major choral works can be heard in the springtime, often in celebration of Easter and, by way of complete contrast, the summer/autumn season sees the Choir in a somewhat lighter mood with a programme of light classics, excerpts from the musicals, popular songs, even some jazz numbers, often interspersed with the odd comedy item.
