Reg Meuross

Described by Mark Radcliffe as a “brilliant singer-songwriter and true troubadour with a social conscience”, it’s not all protest; as well as story songs which bring characters from history to life and comment on life around him Reg also writes and sings love songs.

He first emerged onto the acoustic music scene in the 1980s with The Panic Brothers with Richard Morton, mixing Americana with humour and slick harmonies.

He then went on to form The Flamingos, featuring ex-Graham Parker guitarist Martin Belmont, Bob Loveday from The Penguin Cafe Orchestra and Bob Geldof’s Band, and Alison Jones of The Barely Works.

In 1996 he released his first solo album. His songs comment on life as he sees it, bringing wide ranging stories from the ghosts of WW1 soldiers to the ravages of dementia.
