Martin Dale

Martin Dale is one of the busiest and most popular saxophonists in the South West, running his own quartet and appearing regularly as a guest soloist.

Martin Dale Quartet MDQ is led by Martin Dale, whose versatile technique and talented improvisations on tenor sax deliver an eclectic blues-influenced mix of modern mainstream jazz. The rhythm section simply ‘lock in’ together and naturally groove from start to finish in any tempo both harmonically and stylistically, driven by a powerhouse swinging drummer giving light and shade to the section. The Quartet has worked with other great British jazz musicians such as Jim Mullen, Peter King, Mark Nightingale, Alan Barnes, Bruce Adams, Bobby Wellins and Lee Gibson.

Martin Dale Duo/Trio Comprises sax, piano and, if needed, string bass. Playing jazz standards from the American Song Book and well known Bossa Novas and Ballads.

Jazz Lounge A sophisticated trio with James and Hilda Clemas on piano and vocals together with Martin Dale on sax. This trio is ideal for listening or dancing to. Parties, Weddings, Barmitzmahs are just some of the functions this group can play for! Their repertoire spans from Gershwin to Steely Dan; which just about covers everything!
