Vienna Festival Ballet
UK based independent touring classical ballet company founded in 1980 by the Austrian dancer Peter Mallek. One of its many aims is to provide its dancers, who have an average age of 20, the opportunity to perform the great classical ballets around the world. The VFB gave its first performance in Brighton, England in May 1980. This was followed by an extended European tour the UK, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Belgium. The company’s repertoire has grown steadily over the years, each of the ballets are full length, and choreographed after the original, exclusively for the VFB. The repertoire includes Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Coppelia, Giselle, La Sylphide, Rhapsody In Blue, Snow White, Othello, An American in Paris and Tales From The Vienna Woods.
