Laura Quigley

Author and playwright whose work often explores the dark side of local history. Her Bloody British History of Plymouth recounts gruesome true stories from the region while South West Secret Agents reveals spy stories from World War II.

A Song for The Burning is set in Plymouth in 1675 at a time when women were hanged as witches, whipped for adultery, and ducked in the harbour if they dare to complain.

Other titles include The Devil Comes to Dartmoor and her time-travelling adventure for all ages Spirit and the Magic Horsebox.

She has also won Amnesty International’s Human Rights Playwriting Award.
