Jay Burleigh

Jay Burleigh

Born in Falmouth, Cornwall, Jay has always had a love of music.

As a child, his love of music continued to grow; he listened to artists such as Phil Collins and Roger Taylor and bands such as Queen and Dire Straits. At 14 he started drumming and became more interested in Green Day, soon joining a punk band. Although loving the drums, Jay soon grew away from this and wanted to explore his song writing skills and producing skills.

Whilst studying music technology at college, Jay worked closely with hip-hop artists and producing tracks; at home he focused on writing and recording his own acoustic rock songs. Steering away from being a band drummer, he soon launched into focusing much more closely on his own upbeat acoustic style of music. Attending an open mic was the turning point in this progression and the acoustic genre became his priority.

More recently, Jay has produced and released his own upbeat acoustic EPs and has become a regular host of Open Mics and Jam Nights across Cornwall. This has allowed him to find inspiration from other musicians in Cornwall and Jay enjoys creating music with whoever comes along. His performances are not just about the music, he wants to bring an arena style show to any venue.
