Jane Mason

Jane Mason trained in theatre at Bretton Hall in the early 90’s before freelancing as a dancer for such choreographers as Wayne McGregor, Charles Linehan and Wendy Houstoun.

Since 1997 she’s made work in various collaborative contexts with companies including Lone Twin, Quarantine and The Gate Theatre.

She has evolved a particular interest in the solo construct creating solo performances under her own name since 2004 often with live music. She also makes movement-based films, collaborates regularly on theatre productions, teaches in various community and educational settings and undertakes commissions.

She has nurtured a collaborative relationship with composer Jules Maxwell since 1997 and more recently she has also worked with a dramaturg, David Williams.
