Dartington Morris Men
We are based in the small village of Dartington, near Totnes in South Devon, although our members come from a much wider area from the South Hams to Torbay, Exeter to Plymouth and Newton Abbot to the southern edge of Dartmoor. We dance all around this area on Friday evenings during the summer, occasional Fridays during the winter and at other special events throughout the year, such as village fetes and wedding receptions.
The side was formed in 1968 and is a member of the Morris Ring, the international organisation of Morris dancers.
We have a wide repertoire of dances, in the traditional Cotswold morris style, performing dances from many of the Costwold villages. We also perform Filkins dances, which were lost to all until their reconstruction by one of our own members.
We are well known for our energetic dance style and our after-Morris music sessions, involving much singing and music!
You can read more about our dance performances and our background on our website.
